When some one is publicly criticized then read what excuse they come up with:
1. Once a black shot two of his city residents and the reason given was :URBAN SURVIVAL SYNDROME which is a fear from people living in same area.
2. Dan White used THE TWINKIE DEFENSE i.e. High sugar levels caused by too much junk food consumption compounded by manic depression to explain why he killed city mayor George Moscone and gay board member Harvey Milk.
3. Killing due to racial prejudice called BLACK RAGE was used to defend Colin Ferguson for killing four whites and two Asian-Americans on a Long Island Railroad train.
4. A woman murders her husband and then continues on a killing spree for about a week. When finally caught and charged, she was given an attorney. Her excuse was, “I was under the influence of PMS and CMS (current menstrual syndrome).”
5. I killed him because he was trying to snatch my necklace. [ The fact was that the lady was not wearing any necklace]
6. I just could not stop my bike on time to prevent that fatal accident, its not my fault the brakes failed.
7. Sir, I did not killed that bastard, he just came in the way of my shot.
8. No my lord, I did not thrashed that lady, she instead was beating me and I was just protecting myself.

I might file away some of those excuses for future reference… I wonder, did any of them actually work? The last one still gets used a fair bit (self-defence). I live in NZ and some guy who killed his wife recently tried to use the ‘defence’ of provocation. That did not go down well, and now the legislation is getting changed so that provocation is not a possible murder defence or sentence reduction argument.
